“Articles of Incorporation” is a document used to form a corporation with the appropriate state level agency. It has different names in different states, including “Certificate of Incorporation.” It must be filed with the appropriate state level agency to create the corporation named in the particular Articles of Incorporation. This agency varies from state to state, but in Michigan it is LARA. The information required in Articles of Incorporation also varies from state to state.
